After using HDCP and AACS anti-piracy technology, movie programs can only be played normally on devices that support HDCP, otherwise you can only see a black screen display or a low-quality display (the resolution is only about one-fourth of the normal). Among them, AACS is an encryption technology, which is also used in HD DVD and Blu-ray discs to protect the video content in the disc from being normally copied and played in other places.
The HDCP protocol is used to prevent video content from being completely copied during transmission. This technology is not to prevent the digital signal from being illegally recorded, but to encrypt the digital signal so that the illegal recording method cannot achieve the original high-resolution image quality. For example, the Blu-ray disc player cannot record clear programs at the same time when playing high-definition discs, and cannot clearly record the programs on the monitor when playing the discs on the computer. HDCP protects the video signal from start to finish, which means that every link in the entire playback system must support the HDCP protocol. If the monitor does not support the HDCP protocol, then the HD program cannot be played normally, and only a black screen or low image quality can be seen. Show. To support the HDCP protocol, digital video interfaces such as DVI and HDMI must be used, and traditional analog signal interfaces such as VGA cannot support the HDCP protocol. The data content protected by HDCP technology on the computer platform will be output by the COPP driver (Certified Output Protection Protocol) in the operating system to first verify the graphics card. Only legal graphics cards can achieve content output, and then the key of the display device must be authenticated. Only devices that meet the HDCP requirements can finally display the content transmitted by the graphics card. During HDCP transmission, both the sender and receiver store a set of available keys. These keys are stored secretly. Both the sender and receiver perform encryption and decryption operations based on the keys. A special feature must be added to such operations. At the same time, each device of HDCP will have a unique KSV serial number, and the cryptographic processing unit of the sender and receiver will check each other's KSV value to ensure that the connection is legal. The HDCP encryption process will process each pixel, making the picture irregular and unrecognizable. Only after confirming the synchronization can the sender and receiver perform reverse processing to complete data restoration. In the decryption process, the HDCP system will confirm the connection every 2 seconds, and at the same time, perform the synchronization identification code of the sender and the receiver every 128 frames to ensure the synchronization of the connection. In order to deal with the situation of key leakage, HDCP has specially established a "revocation key" mechanism. The key set KSV value of each device is unique. The HDCP system will compare and look up the KSV value in the revocation list after receiving the KSV value. The KSV that appears in the list will be regarded as illegal, causing the authentication process to fail. The revocation key list here will be included in the multimedia data corresponding to HDCP and will be updated automatically.
It can be seen that in order to play copyrighted high-definition programs on the computer, whether it is HDTV, Blu-ray or HD DVD discs, the display and graphics card must support the HDCP protocol. However, if manufacturers want to put the HDCP logo on their products, they need to pay a certain certification fee and increase the hardware chip, which obviously increases the cost.
