Let's first understand several modes of wireless AP
1. ACCESS POINT: Wireless hotspot mode, which is the default mode of the wireless router. In this mode, the wireless network card can find the AP and connect to the LAN, but other APs cannot find it.
2.Bridge mode: AP can connect with AP.
3. Wireless distributed system (wds), which is equivalent to Bridge+ap mode. The AP in this mode can be connected with the same set of APs, and it can also provide wireless access.
4. Wireless client mode (AP Client): The AP in this mode is only connected to designated wireless hotspots, and can only be connected to the local area network, and no longer provides wireless access functions. It is equivalent to a wireless network card.

Start answering questions:
1: The wireless router turns on AP+wds, this function may have other words: for example: AP+Bridge. Note: When turning on the bridge mode, you must fill in the mac address of your wireless AP. That is to turn on the AP function , And also bridge the function at the same time.
2: Set the wireless AP to wds mode. When setting it, pay attention to fill in the mac address of the AP hotspot on the wireless router. Here, pay attention to the mac address of the AP hotspot, which is the LAN address of the wireless router.
3.The rest is simple, take a wire out of the rj45 port of the wireless AP, and connect it to the computer or the switch.

Note: The SSID, channel and encryption method on the wireless router and the wireless AP must be the same. And the wireless router should not enable the dhcp function, the IP addresses of these two things must be in the same network segment.

How far(long) the transmitter cover?

The transmission range depends on many factors. The true distance is based on the antenna installing height , antenna gain, using environment like building and other obstructions , sensitivity of the receiver, antenna of the receiver . Installing antenna more high and using in the countryside , the distance will much more far.

EXAMPLE 5W FM Transmitter use in the city and hometown:

I have a USA customer use 5W fm transmitter with GP antenna in his hometown ,and he test it with a car, it cover 10km(6.21mile).

I test the 5W fm transmitter with GP antenna in my hometown ,it cover about 2km(1.24mile).

I test the 5W fm transmitter with GP antenna in Guangzhou city ,it cover about only 300meter(984ft).
