Simply put, H.265 is a new video compression standard. Its core value is to transmit higher-quality network videos under limited bandwidth. 1.What is the significance of H.265 to live and on-demand platforms?
Due to the high compression rate of H.265, most of the live and on-demand platforms are very concerned about its development progress. If H265 can be widely used in its own business, it can save costs, improve user experience, and effectively open a gap with competitors to occupy the market. But even if H 265 has an absolute advantage, the mainstream encoding and compression standard on the market is still H.264. What is going on?
First of all, this is because H 265 has higher coding complexity, so it consumes more power and takes longer. In fact, this is also easy to understand. Second: the promotion of audio and video companies, because the popularity of H265 is directly related to the profits of many audio and video business companies. Imagine that if the bandwidth of a few Ts is saved at 50%, the extra-a large amount of profit is likely to make some live on-demand companies turn losses into profits.
Third: due to the fast update speed of hardware equipment, the further improvement of the performance of hardware such as mobile phones and PCs will cause the shortcomings of high performance requirements of H.265 to be gradually overcome.
