In the habit of having RJ45 devices and plugging in computers to capture packets, I found that the live broadcast is based on multicast, and the protocol uses RTP.
The all-around player VLC came out, input the corresponding address, and it really can be played on the computer.
What's more interesting is that the authentication of the toll booth is done in the set-top box. If you use a computer to directly access the address, there is no pressure to play.
Therefore, a solution through openwrt+igmpproxy+udpxy+xupnpd+dlna was developed, which realized that the original set-top box was not affected, and the TV could watch all the programs including the pay station through the DLNA function, and the computer could also watch the operation through the intranet. The webcast and review provided by the supplier basically realized both TV dramas and ball games.
Let me talk about igmpproxy first, as the name implies, realize the proxy of igmpproxy protocol~
This software is available in the official source of openwrt, you can install it directly, but the configuration is more particular.

In addition to the target zone and multicast address of the firewall, if you are not sure about its functions, try not to change other parameters. The target address here includes all multicast addresses.
After the configuration is completed, the router should be able to be connected in series between the modem and the set-top box, and the function of the set-top box will not be affected in any way.

How far(long) the transmitter cover?
The transmission range depends on many factors. The true distance is based on the antenna installing height , antenna gain, using environment like building and other obstructions , sensitivity of the receiver, antenna of the receiver . Installing antenna more high and using in the countryside , the distance will much more far.
EXAMPLE 5W FM Transmitter use in the city and hometown:
I have a USA customer use 5W fm transmitter with GP antenna in his hometown ,and he test it with a car, it cover 10km(6.21mile).
I test the 5W fm transmitter with GP antenna in my hometown ,it cover about 2km(1.24mile).
I test the 5W fm transmitter with GP antenna in Guangzhou city ,it cover about only 300meter(984ft).
