How to make RCA to 3.5mm cable

Step 1: Prepare materials

To make this line, what you need is:

1) Two RCA cables (yellow, white and red cables. You can buy them for less than $2.)

2) 3.5 mm audio plug (this plug is located at the end of the earphone. You can cut off a pair of earplugs or headphones. You can also buy one in the radio shed.

3) Solder and soldering iron (optional, if not, you can use tape to connect)

4) Electrical tape

5) Scissors or wire strippers

Step 2: Making

Please follow the circuit diagram. If you are using the 3.5mm audio plug on a pair of headphones, there are four wires to plug in from there. Each RCA plug has two ground points, one for the right channel and the other for the left channel. For my headphones, the left and right channels are green and white insulated, and the two ground wires are bare copper wires.

Now it’s time to plug in the headphones and listen to music!
