Skateboarders, hello! Want to create your own skateboard with a simple way? Do you like technology? Then this may be your perfect DIY project ... LONGBOARD SPEEDOMETER driven by Raspberry Pi displays your current speed, travel distance, etc. on the 16x2 LCD monitor in front of the board and runs a web page on the PI. You must shape a plate, drill, and varnish. I have never truly have had such things before, and it is not difficult. This is a final project I am in the first year of ICT University, so I have to understand the electrical, you need to have basic understanding of the production circuit, Python, HMTL, CSS (+ Flask) and SQL encoding. In any case, you can download all files, so you don't need to accurately encode some content. Step 1: Parts Total price of all parts: 324 euros I list the list of materials you need, you can download it below. Step 2: Build a skateboard Make a deck The deck itself is made of 15 mm composite wood. Professional deck shaping may say that this is not the correct way to build a skateboard deck, but if this is your first time to build a deck, this is undoubtedly more convenient. I printed a skateboard tail design (file will be below). If you want to find other design, this is the site. step: Print design Stick it on a composite wood Start cutting (I use ordinary curve saw) Drill truck hole 2. Stick to the hand step: Hold the sticker and put it properly and tide on the plate. Make sure the tape covers the entire board. Take a screwdriver to push the side of the board and make the side clearly visible. Cut the site with a 45 ° angular cutting site and attempt to complete this in a smooth manner. 3. Add truck / wheel It is necessary to accurately drill the truck hole to place the truck correctly in place. step: Take the screw through the clip and board with a drill, but don't go down (leave 2 mm)! Troubleshoot them will leave a gripped thread trail on the grip. Pick up the truck and pass them through the screw. Fixed bold until it takes a considerable pressure. You will see that the screws at the top will drop in a more controllable way. Fishtail design Step 3: Wiring Plan Here you can find the wiring scheme. I used two electrical components: 3144 Hall Effect Sensor 16x2 LCD monitor You will need several wires to connect all pins. Step 4: Hardware build In this step, I will explain how I add electronic hardware to the board. 1. Install Flex-O-Boxes This is the first thing you have to do. Place the first box at 3 cm behind the front truck, which will be used to install PI. If the wire is to pass, you can connect the nut into the hole. Of course, you want to ensure that the box is in the board. If you think the box is in a good location, start to screwing into the screws displayed on the part list. When this process is completed, place the second box after the first box and then start tightening again. One connection hole between the two boxes is important, which is a USB cable for powering through the box. 2. Place the raspberry and battery pack The Raspberry Pi will place in the first box and place the battery pack in the second box. You will need a cutter to cut out some plastic to fix the circumference rate. This is because the Micro-SD cart extends 2 mm, which makes the PI larger. 3. Hall sensor + LCD Hall sensor Take a screw to put it in 2 magnets. This is screwed into one side of the wheel, so that only the magnet extends. Take some tape to secure the Hall sensor and its cable to make it no longer move. Take the cable, pass them through the spiral wrap, through the holes in the nut, in its designated port. LCD Monitor Drilling on laser cutting engraving, passing the port of the LCD through the plate so that they can reach the bottom of the board. Put the LCD screen. Like the wires on the liquid crystal display as shown in the previous step. Wrap them through the helix to PI. Connect the wire to the PI, as shown in the previous step. 4. 3D Print Frame I think the green border of the LCD monitor is very ugly, so I search on the Internet and find a design. It hides the boundaries well. Step 5: Code To get the rest of the code, please visit my Github account and you can find all other files. Press the green clone or download buttons and copy the link. Go to the PI terminal and enter: Git Clone https://github.com/pieterdemalsche/longboardspeedo ... A directory will be created in the working directory. Step 6: LCD and web pages After starting the PI for a period of time, you will be able to see the current speed on the LCD monitor. This will explain how to run a web page on the PI. Make sure your PI is connected to the WiFi network Insert the Ethernet cable and start the command line. Check the IP address of the PI input: ifconfig View the third line WLAN0 and copy the INET ADRR. (For example: 192.168.0.158) Unplug the network cable. Surf over the device connected to the same network and add: 8080 You are now on the website. Tell me your thoughts section, if you try to build your own, please tell me!
