Comparison between video coding schemes (HEVC, H.264, MPEG2, etc.)

Overall, the video quality of different video compression coding methods has the following relationships at the same bit rate: H.264> MPEG4 > MPEG2 The objective video quality evaluation algorithm is described above, and the subjective quality evaluation test in the paper here. Subjective evaluation includes both HEVC and H.264 coding standards. The Kimono1 video sequence results are shown in the figure. The CACTUS video sequence is shown in the figure. As can be seen from subjective evaluation test, HEVC is basically more than 50% of H.264.
