Connect smart home, build MFRC522-based RFID on the Raspberry Pass 3B

In this project, I will show how to use Microsoft IoT Core to set RFID on the Raspberry Pi. The project uses C # coding, eventually entering the Stronghold CMD to open and close the security system in my home. How to use Microsoft Iot Core to set RIFD on the Raspberry Pi The first thing you have to do is to buy Raspberry Pi M 3+ or Raspberry Pi Modelb. I recommend that you choose Model B 3 instead of a PLUS version to get more support to the model. I will use 3B + version in this video, but I will introduce the items needed to use 3B normal work. I also recommend using 5V power adapter and 16GB memory card, which can be purchased as a kit to save trouble for compatible parts. If you do not buy as a kit, make sure that the accessories are compatible with Windows IoT Core. The second thing you need to purchase is that the RFID development board MFRC522 can be purchased on Taobao. You can also buy from local components suppliers, very cheap, about ten to tens of dollars. The last thing you have to do is familiar with the mother-of-colors of the mother-in-tube needle connection cable, if you have no soldering iron, then you need to use some electronic solder. I don't recommend buying low-watt electric iron, because it is difficult to use, about 60 watts is enough. After the parts are supplied, pull out the MFRC522 RFID board and weld the joint to the board. First insert or turn on the power of the soldering iron, then add water on the sponge. After the soldering iron reaches the temperature, tap the soldering iron of the soldering iron, then hit the soldering iron to the pin to be welded. Make sure no two pins are unexpectedly connected to a solder. Next, please connect the individual connections in the following order, preferably use separate colors for each connection, because this will enable you to identify the pin: This is a picture of the Pin Header on the Raspberry Pi. Please note that when the USB and network ports are on the right side, the pin 1 starts from the top left, the pin 2 is directly above the pin 1, the pin 3 is located The right side of the pin 1 is pushed. Before continuing any operation, make sure the Raspberry Pi has been properly connected to the MFRC522, otherwise there will be many errors. Now download Windows IoT Core Dashboard, you will need to do this on a computer that supports the SD card. Next, if you are using Raspberry PI 3 B, download the latest version of the software and install it via Windows Iot Core Dashboard. If you are using Raspberry PI 3 B +, you need to install internal preview version 17661 on the Raspberry Pi, otherwise it will not be able to start. Please note that wireless and Bluetooth do not work on this software version. After the installation is complete, start the Raspberry Party, if successful, you will see the rainbow screen, then the Windows load screen. Next is the code. You can download my project file and use a runoff item, you can also use the next link yourself: https://github.com/mlowijs/mfrc522-neetmf/tree/master/mfrc522 This guy has released a complete library that you can copy and paste into its own C # file. Finally, the code I have modified, which allows you to see a problematic UID, and scan the label multiple times, this page provides this code. Finally, you will need to run the code, go to the properties of the project, and then change the target device to the remote computer, then enter the IP address of the Raspberry Pi displayed on the Raspberry Pi connected to the screen. Next, make sure the build type is configured as ARM. Then, press Play and then you can see the application that is running on the PI on the screen. If you get RFID UID when scan tags, you will know that you have correctly connected all things, and the code is working. If you scan the label and get duplicate zero, try waiting for 10 seconds after the program is loaded, then scan, if you still can't solve the problem, use troubleshooting skills. Finally, if there is a UID, I congratulate you, you succeed! Now, how is the most interesting thing to consider to handle prototypes? I made a housing for my Raspberry Pist and can use Sketchup to secure all wiring and electronic devices. From there, I will use RFID to open and close my home security system. You can create a lot of great ideas! Be Article Source HackADAY
