Open Xilinx ISE Project Navigator.
Select File->open Project to open the downloaded DEMO program. The upper half of the Design window is the file tree of the project. The right window is some information files. Double-click the design file content in the project is also displayed on the right.
Select the TOP file of the Demo project, double-click Synthesize-Xst in the lower half of the Design window to start synthesis. After completing, double-click Implement Design and start the wiring. After completing, double-click Generate Programming File.
Select Tools->impact, pop-up window Select the JTAG Boundary-Scan mode and select Configure the .bit file of the FPGA. Right click on the FPGA graphics in the window, select Program, and start the FPGA.
After the Demo program works, the 7-segment digital display tube loops displays the numbers, and the dial switch can control the corresponding LED light, buttons can control the corresponding digital tube, the hyper terminal can monitor the information of the serial port.
2.EDK Under Demo
EDK tools are more suitable for hardware and software integrated design, which can be very convenient to build embedded system platforms.
First, embedded development is performed for Nexys3, to configure the BSB support file, which can be downloaded free of charge in Digilent official website.
Run Xilinx Platform Studio.
Open the downloaded DEMO program. EDK projects automatically generate IP Core by the Development Wizard, and you can see all IP resources provided in the IP Catalog window.
Set the path to the BSB support file in the project option.
Because it is a DEMO program, we can generate hardware bitstream files directly. Select Hardware->Generate BitStream.
Open Xilinx Software Development Kit to create a new Workspace.
Select File->new->xilinx Hardware Platform Specification, name a new Project, select Path "\ Project \ SDK \ SDK_EXPORT \ HW" under Target Hardware Specification to create Project.
Select File->new->xilinx C Project, import the file under the DEMO program into the new project. Compile generation. Olexible code
Select Xilinx Tools->Program FPGA to ensure "BootLoop" under "ELF File To Initialize In Block Ram".
In the Project Explorer window, right click. Click the .elff file, select Run as->launch on hardware. The DEMO program started.
