Diy Raspberry Pi desktop computer (accessible GPIO)

In this project, we will make a Raspberry Pi desktop computer, I call Samytronix Pi. This desktop computer is mainly made of 3 mm laser cutting acrylic plate. Samytronix Pi is equipped with HD displays, speakers and most important access to GPIO pins! Simply add a keyboard and mouse, you can start! Since this Raspberry Pi is available on the GPIO connection, this PC is suitable for enthusiasts, manufacturers, students, teachers, and even researchers. The components used in this project are ready-made components, which is easy to find or expensive. Video Demo: Be Step 1: Collect all components SAMYTRONIX PI components: Mini speaker 8 ohms, 2 watts Connector plug mini micro jst 2.0 pH 4 needles 40pin GPIO Line 10.1 inch LCD Raspberry Pivot 1280 * 800 TFT EJ101IA HD IPS HDMI turn HDMI line 30cm (short) Solar UBEC 5V 3A Micro USB Power adapter 12V 1.5A Raspberry PI 3 model B + (3B and 2B is also compatible) Miniature SD card 16GB Wireless key rat (recommended: Logitech nano mk240) For HAT prolonged 40pin GPIO cable, with 40pin joints, etc. Long 2.54mm spacing Bolts and nuts: Bolt M3 35mm ... 8PCS Bolt M3 20mm ... 4PCS Bolt M3 15mm ... 6PCS Bolt M2 or 2.5 10mm ... 8PCS Nut M2 or 2.5 ... 8PCS Nylon gasket M2 or 2.5 6mm ... 8PCS Step 2: Laser cutting acrylic This is a laser cutting acrylic file (Illustrator and CoreLDRAW). This item uses a 3mm thick acrylic board. Case_SAMY-PI_REV.AI Case_SAMY-PI_REV.CDR Step 3: Assembly Front Panel (Display) 1. Place the display as shown in the first figure. 2. Insert the strip cable into the display. 3. Fix the cable with the tape and cover the cable. 4. Place the last level of acrylic board as shown above. Step 4: Assembly Raspberry Pi Shell 1. Insert M2 / M2.5 10mm bolts and nuts, as shown in Figure 1. 2. Align the Raspberry Party and mounted to the bolt. Secure it with the small pad shown in the second sheet. 3. Align and place the remaining acrylic part, as shown in Figures 3 and 4. 4. Insert 4 M3 35mm bolts into the holes near the edge of the outer casing, and secure it with the nut shown in Fig. 5. 5. Don't forget to insert the SD card into the Raspberry. This step can be done later, but once the outer casing has been installed to the front panel, it will become more difficult. Step 5: Welding UBEC to the Display Driver (AV) This step is necessary so that the desktop computer can run only by one power source. To do this, we need to get 12V DC power from the AV drive and output it to power the Raspberry Pi using 5V DC. 1. Cut the connector of the output. 2. Welding the power cord to the male USB connector. 3. Place the micro USB back into its housing. Step 6: Assembly AV Display Drive Shell This step is similar to step 4. 1. Insert M2 / M2.5 10mm bolts and nuts, as shown below. 2. Align the Raspberry Party and mounted to the bolt. Fix it with a small gasket. 3. Arrange and place the remaining acrylic components, as shown below. 4. Make sure the Ubec cable is not entangled (you can choose to hide Ubec in the housing or put it outside. Simply make sure the USB connector can be outside the housing. 5. Connect 10-pin JST cable. As shown below. 6. Connect the speaker cable. As shown below. 7. Insert 4 M3 35mm bolts into the holes near the edge of the housing, place the cover, and secure it with the nut shown in the figure below. 8. Connect the other end of the 10-pin JST connector to the display controller. 9. Install the controller to an acrylic as shown below. Step 7: Install the bracket 1. The side portion of the mounting bracket as shown above. 2. Place the middle portion as shown in Figure 2 above. 3. Place the nut within a given space and lock the acrymy part in place with bolts. 4. Do the same thing in the rest of the area. (The side is standing on the display, and the upper portion is standing on the side, and the lower portion is standing on the side) Step 8: Install the speaker Use a rubber gun to install the speaker to the grill on the front panel. Step 9: Install the Raspberry PI and AV drivers There are two options in Raspberry Pi and AV boards. You can use double-sided tape or magic stickers. In this example, we used double-sided tape, but they can be interchangeable. 1. Install the AV driver housing using a double-sided tape. Make sure the holes on the front panel are aligned with the nuts on the housing. 2. Mount the monitoring controller and the Raspberry Pist with the same method. 3. Connect the strip cable from the display to the AV driver. 4. Connect the HDMI line of the Raspberry Part to the AV driver. 5. Connect the miniature USB cable to the Raspberry Pi. Step 10: Shorten GPIO jumper (optional) This step is necessary if you want to shorten the GPIo jumper to make cable management. 1. Use a small head screwdriver to open the black connector portion of the jumper, as shown in Figures 1 and 2. 2. Peeled the cable from the small blade. 3. Handling the cable to make the length of about 9 cm. 4. Place the cable (close to the end) between the black components and cards together so that each individual small blade will be connected to each cable. 5. Place each component in place as before. Step 11: Insert the GPIO jumper to access it from front 1. Insert one end of the GPIO jumper into the Raspberry Pist. 2. Plug the other end into the GPIO opening on the front panel. Use a small amount of hot tap to fix it in place. Step 12: Add a GPIO tag Print GPIO tags on stickers or use a binder to attach the label to the GPIO interface around the Samytronix Pi. This is very useful when using Samytronix P i for prototyping and saves a lot of time. Sticker_gpio.tif Step 13: All completed! Congratulations, you have finished! You have made yourself a computer. Use your new computer to make prototype design, production items, or use it as a web browser like a normal computer, have fun.
