The measurement resistance is one of the most effective techniques of pressure, bending, strain, and stretching switches and sensors. Capacitance measurements are also very popular, and many microcontroller built-in circuits have completed heavy work. Resistance sensing is excellent in speed because there is no need for a long delay to integrate and filter other methods. By resistance sensing, bare conductive arrays can also be used in many different resistance materials. These requirements are why the new Fingerphone Touch Musical instrument uses custom chips for resistance sensing. The touch surface is mainly used to play with your fingers, but the bare gold-plated maze pattern conductor provides an ideal surface, suitable for exploration and slashing of different conductive materials and objects.
