This year, you can use your own Raspberry Pista to increase a grade. No matter where you are, Heatermeter allows you to pay close attention to your grill and food temperature. Simply pull out the phone, check the grill state, and perform temperature adjustment in real time.
What is Heatermeter?
Heatermeter is an open source barbecue platform. The project uses a hot probe to monitor the temperature of the grill, even publishing the current status information in a web-based interface.
How did it work?
The heat sensor passes the information to the Heatermeter box. This is a 3D print cartoon with buttons and LCD screens. You can use it to check the current temperature status and manually adjust the fan speed and other matters to keep the grill temperature in the location you want. You can add additional probes to monitor the meat you are cooking. More components can be added, such as servo control dampers.
Raspberry Pie can monitor your food distance. You can also trigger custom notifications, text, or emails when you reach a specific temperature.

2, collect tools
First, you need some tools. Even if you start using the official heater instrument kit, you may need some additional items.

3, make pit detector
The pit probe needs to be manufactured in accordance with the specification. If you are not sure where to start, I will specifically write a process of making the pit probe in a later article.

4, install Heatermeter on the PI
Heatermeter can run on any raspberry art. But not every PI is the same, some have a huge benefits, which makes different items like this. If possible, you can use the model of the update - these usually better performance, and some built-in WiFi adapters are very useful to this project.
To install the Heatermeter software, visit the HeaterMeter download page to find the corresponding image of the PI. It is necessary to use an imaging program like etchern to burn image to the SD card.

Once you have created a component, you can gather them together! Your pit can be installed and connected to the Heatermeter. There is a detailed description of the Heatermeter Wiki. I highly recommend this resource, especially if you use additional components, such as multiple probes or dampers.
