Step 1: Removal
First, you will need a T8H screwdriver. You may be able to eliminate the middle of the pin, and use common Torx driver to open it.
There are a lot of videos and instructions on how to remove the xbox controller, and I am here to skip the removal process. (Because I only realized this after the removal of the controller, but I'm too lazy, can not be re-installed and remove it again.)
Step 2: Find the button
After dismantling the shell, you will see a screwdriver points to the location of a button.
You can also see a lever LB / RB button, if the lever is damaged, it may be the reason it does not work. You can easily replace it with online components.
In any case, if you flip it, you need to find the pin in question RB button connection. There are four pins, two pins connected to the left to the button itself, the other two pins are connected to the support plate to the right of the button.
The method is to use a multimeter test button. Switch it continuous mode, and connect it to the left side of the two pins. Then click the button with a third hand to see if the buttons respond immediately. A good click the button should respond immediately, and when the button is pressed you should hear a beep.
As a result of my poor button response, hysteresis and sometimes does not work. You can also compare the Replace button to see if there are any different. Then I concluded that the problem in this button. Otherwise, this will not help you repair instructions.
We will need to rework button together with the support plate, because they are molded together.
Step 3: desoldering
I switched the iron to 316 degrees, if you let the iron placed on a point of time is too long, it should not burn anything.
After removing the button, I cleaned the pinholes, which is a view of the top and bottom.
You can also see two buttons, a white button is the original, there are plate, which has two plastic bits, the button in place. You can simply scraped off, the button should be easy to let go. Is then compared with the alternative button (black button). Height should be the same height as the original replacement, some buttons longer, therefore not suitable replacement.
After confirming the size of the button and the same height, we can begin to put back all the contents.

Step 4: Replace button
To stick to the backsheet button can simply be thermally bonded. It should be very tight, with a little twist about it.
You can also see highlight the extent to which button is less than the original button. It does not matter as long as the good welding. Make sure the solder is 100% button and is connected to the board. Otherwise, you will not get any response.
Step 5: cleaning time! Reassembled and completed

Before reassembling swab, just for a quick test console or computer. If they are good, proceed to the assembly.
Step 6: End
