Infineon's latest Hall sensor can be used for ASIL D classification for automotive applications

TLE4999I3 Sensor IC integrates two Hall into a device for strict control of automotive applications. Yesterday, Yingfeiling announced a new dual-channel Hall sensor tle4999i3. Infineon claims that the sensor is the world's first sensor integrated with two Hall sensors of the ASIL D car system. The new sensor adds the British Flying Line Hall sensor, mainly for angular and linear position sensing. All in all, Yingfine now lists 19 linear Hall products, four of which are marked as "double linear Hall" IC for "functional safety system". However, the new TLE4999I3 is the only product listed as "fully compliant with ISO 26262 standard" in the linear Hall IC list. At the same time, the Xensiv series sensors of Infineon include various magnetic, pressure, radar, and MEMS sensors, suitable for various applications from drone locations to current sensing. However, what is the meaning of ISO 26262 standard - that is, what is ASIL D mean? What is Asil D? Asil represents the safety integrity level of car. This is a classification system based on ISO 26262 standard, but it is derived from IEC 61508 standard. In the ISO 26262 standard, in its own, it is concerned that the road vehicle function is safe, and the firmness and safety of the name are the focus. It is revised in 2018 as ISO 26262: 2018. The ASIL D classification represents the most stringent requirements, where A is the lowest classification (except for the lack of dangerous fifth level). According to the security and safety of ARM on the car SOC design in 2016, ASIL D indicates that the signal point fault mode (SPFM) is 99%, and the potential fault metric (LFM) is 90%. Due to the intensive requirements of Asil D, it has become precious classification of electrical components. This may be an important reason for the release of TLE4999I3 in English. Xensiv tle4999i3 sensor Xensiv TLE4999I3 sensors are actually two Hall sensors in single-chip devices. Both the two sensing components into a package make it a faulty elasticity, and more accurate due to redundant measurement channels. Each channel can be programmed independently via EEPROM. Depending on the data sheet of the device, the two Hall - known as the main Hall probe and child Hall produce a separate measurement channel, each with independent adjustment power domain and bias unit. Then the analog signal is then fed to a separate ADC ("HADC" of the main element, the multiplex "sub-component" sub-HTS-ADC "), and then transmits the signal to two DSPs. The DSP then calculates the Hall measurement value according to the compensation parameter (ie stress and temperature drift), and provides "digital Manchester Coded Current Modulation Signal" compatible with PSI5 (peripheral sensor interface 5) V2.1. TEL4999I3's significant features include: Work junction temperature ranges from -40 ° C to 150 ° C 5.5 to 7 V supply voltage range Double line two-way SiCi (serial check and configuration) interface AEC-Q100 qualified Three-pin PG-SSO-3-12 package ("for installation in a PCB module")
