The project shows how DIY is a smart clock. Everyone can experience the fun of welding and assembly from this project. Surprisingly, you can complete the WiFi connection without loading the code. In addition to clock and alarm, you can also view weather in different cities and set different time zones.

Step 1: Insert the electronic component
Start welding by insertion of the electronic component into the pad of the board. The order of the components to be welded depends on the height of the component. It is highly recommended to insert the resistor in the pad and first welding. When the welding is low, as a resistor, they do not hinder the welding of other components (such as capacitors). After inserting the low components, follow these steps to weld and cut out excess leads.
Note that the electrolytic capacitors and buzzers are polar. As shown, see the polarity tags and board markers to insert the components.
Step 2: Welding
Safety first!
Hold the soldering iron like a pen and close to the base of the soldering iron. Do not touch anywhere while welding or hot.
The soldering iron is idle to place the soldering iron on the bracket.
The following shows a lead wire (such as a resistor) for welding electronic components.
First, insert the wire into the hole of the board.
Turn on the soldering iron to heat it.
One hand holds the soldering iron, and the other hand holds the solder.
Contact the tip of the soldering iron into the copper pad and resistor leads. The soldering iron is fixed in place for a few seconds to heat the connection. Both parts soldered must be hot to form a good connection.
Contact the solder contact instead of contact the soldering iron.
Remove the soldering iron to cool the solder naturally.
Reduce excess pins.
Suitable solder joints are smooth, glossy, look like a volcano or cone.
Step 3: Assemble
Packaging PCBA and battery with acrylic housing and screw / bracket
Step 4: Set the WiFi connection
When opening the power button, press the button (top) and keep 1s;
Release the top button, use your phone or PC to connect WiFi "Makerfabs_AP".
Enter IP "192.168.4.1" on the Chrome or other browser on your phone to enter the server.
Enter your WiFi credentials to the server, and ESP32 will connect to WiFi after one minute.
After the WiFi connection setting is complete, it will set the settings and automatically connect to WiFi. If you need to update the WiFi settings, follow these steps to re-enter the WiFi credentials.
Step 5: Set the time zone
Press the top button to change the page to the time zone setting.
Press the bottom button to modify the desired time zone.
After completing the changes, reset the board and the setting will take effect.
Step 6: View the weather
Press the top button to change the clock page, the LCD will display local weather, temperature and humidity.
You can use the bottom button to browse your city you are in the firmware.
Step 7: Set alarm clock
Press the top button to change the page to Alert Settings.
Press the intermediate button to select hours or minutes.
Press the button at the bottom to add a value.
When the alarm sounds, pressing any button to pause it.
