Linear Introduces 7μA quiescent current of 2A, 70V SEPIC / step-up DC / DC converter

Recently, Linear Technology Corporation launches current mode, fixed frequency Sepic / boost type DC / DC converter LT8494, which has an internal 2A, 70V switch. Only 7μA ultra-low static current makes the device very suitable for a car or other industrial battery power supply system that always remains on. The LT8494 is started within the input voltage range of 2.5V to 32V. Once run, it works within 1V to 60V input voltage range, which is ideal for applications from single lithium ion batteries to automobile input power supply. The LT8494 can be configured as a boost type, a Sepic or a reverse transformer. Its switching frequency can be set at 250 kHz to 1.5 MHz through a single resistor, thereby enabling designers to minimize external components size. Heat resistance reinforced TSSOP-20E or 4mm x 4mm QFN package and fiber external components ensure that the solution deposited area is very compact, while minimizing solution costs. The inside of LT8494, high-efficiency 2A / 70V switch provides up to 83% of the efficiency, while running in SEPIC. The unique design of dual power pins (VIN and BIAS) allows the device to operate with the highest efficiency, so that efficiency is optimized under various conditions. For the Sepic Topology, the LT8494 can work with up to 60V input power supply, while the input power supply can be up to 32V in the boost and flyback topology with the protection. Other features include FMEA fault tolerant packages (TSSOP-20E), a good power supply indicator, programmable soft start and overheating shutdown protection. The LT8494 is powered by heat resistance reinforced TSSOP-20 packages. A thousand batch prices are $ 2.85 per piece.
