Lineart launches PFC isolation LED controller LT3799

Lineart introduces an isolated LED controller LT3799 with active power factor correction (PFC), which is designed to drive LEDs for universal input ranges of 90Vac to 265VAC. LT3799 is specifically optimized for LED applications that require 4W to 100W + LED power and compatible with standard TRIAC wall dimmers. The unique current detection scheme of the LT3799 can deliver a well-adjusted current to the sub-end without having to use an optocoupler. This not only reduces cost, but also improves reliability. The external components required for the single-stage PFC regulator design of the device are extremely small. In addition, its heat-resistant enhanced MSOP-16E package ensures a simple and deployed area compact solution for offline LED applications. The LT3799 provides more than 86% of the efficiency, so that there is no need to have external cooling measures in most applications.
