Milpitas, CAs, CA, January 29, 2014 - Linear Technology Corporation launches LTC3612 new high-reliability H-class and military MP version, which is a high Efficiency, 4MHz synchronous buffing regulator, with a constant frequency, current mode architecture. The LTC3612 is capable of providing up to 3A continuous output current with an output voltage as low as 0.6V using a 3mm x 3mm QFN or a heat resistance enhanced TSSOP-20 package. The device operates within 2.25V to 5.5V input voltage range for single lithium ion battery applications and 3.3V or 5V intermediate bus systems. Its switching frequency is user programmable, ranges from 300kHz to 4 MHz, allowing for slimming, low cost capacitors, and inductors.
The LTC3612 uses RDS (ON) only 45MΩ and 70MΩ internal switch, providing more than 90% efficiency of high buck compared to 5VIN to 1.8Vout conversion. Using a burst mode® works to maximize light load efficiency, only 70μA current is required without load, so that the device is ideal for applications requiring the longest battery run time. Adjustable burst mode clamps make designers to further optimize light load efficiency. For the application of minimum noise, the LTC3612 can be configured to run in pulse jump or forced continuous mode, thereby reducing noise and potential RF interference. The LTC3612 also provides input pins for tracking features and DDR memory mode (available / absorbed ± 1.5A current). Other features include optional active voltage positioning, good power supply voltage monitor, external synchronization, and overheating protection.
The high reliability H-level version guarantees the performance specifications within the working knot temperature of -40oC to 150oC. LTC3612HUDC is encapsulated with 3mm x 4mm QFN-20, while LTC3612HFE adopts 20 leads, heat resistance enhanced TSSOP packages, and thousands of batch prices are $ 3.95 and $ 4.15, respectively.
