    Microchip launches high cost-effective 8-bit PIC® single-chip series new product with intelligent simulation function and independent kernel

(US Micro-Core Technology) recently held Ee Live! And Embedded System Conference in San Jose, California, USA The PIC16 (L) F171X series 8-bit microcontroller (MCU) new product was announced. New products integrate a rich set of intelligent simulation and independent of the kernel peripherals, with high price or high price positioning and ultra-low power consumption (XLP) technology. The PIC16F170X / 171X series currently has a total of 11 MCU new products, with a 14-pin, 20-pin, 28-pin, and 40/44 pins, etc.. This series of new products integrate two operational amplifiers to drive analog control loop, sensor amplification and basic signal conditioning, which greatly saves system costs and board space. These new devices also provide built-in zero-zero detection (ZCD) to simplify TRIAC control and minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI) caused by switch transients. In addition, new devices are also the first MCU family with peripheral pins selection functions in the PIC16 MCU family, and this pin mapping feature can help designers flexibly specify the pin arrangement of many peripheral features. As a general-purpose MCU product, the PIC16F170X / 171X series applicable applications are widely used, such as consumer (household appliances, electric tools and electric shaving knives), portable medical (sphygmomanometer, blood glucose meter and pedometer), LED lighting, Battery charging, power supply, and motor control. The PIC16F170X / 171X series integrates a variety of peripherals independent of the kernel, such as configurable logic unit (CLC), complementary output generator (COG), and CNC oscillator (NCO), and the like. These "self-sustain" types have enhanced the performance of 8-bit PIC® MCU to a new level because they can maintain operations without code or CPU supervision when processing tasks, which simplifies the implementation of complex control systems. Designers can be flexibly innovate. CLC peripherals enable designers to create custom logic and interconnects for specific applications, thereby reducing external components, saving code space and adding functions. COG peripheral is a powerful waveform generator that produces complementary waveforms, and performs fine control of key parameters including phases, dead regions, blanking, emergency shutdown status, and error recovery policies. In applications such as control and power conversion, it can drive the FET (field effect transistor) in the half bridge and full bridge, and saves circuit board space and component cost, which can be described as a cost-effective solution. NCO is a programmable, high-precision linear frequency generator with frequency ranges above 1 Hz to 500 kHz. It also simplifies the need to accurately control the application design of the linear frequency including lighting control, tone generator, radio frequency tuning circuit, and fluorescence ballast. The new MCU is equipped with a self-reading / writing flash program memory, up to 2 kB of RAM, a 10-bit ADC, a 5/8-bit DAC, capture / compare / PWM module, independent 10-bit PWM module and high speed comparator (Typical response time is 60 ns), and EUSART, I2CTM, and SPI interface peripherals. In addition, new products also use XLP ultra low power technology, typical operating current and sleep currents only 35 μA / MHz and 30 NA, respectively, help to extend battery life and reduce standby current consumption.
