NXP launches two-way voltage I2C bus conversion buffer

NXP Semiconductors N.v.) Recently announced the introduction of the PCA9617A ultra-fast mode (FM +) I2C bus buffer, which is designed for emerging servers applications using DDR4 SDRAM memory. This breakthrough voltage conversion bus buffer with a voltage level conversion of the CPU side 0.8 V to the SDRAM module side with a voltage level of 2.5 V to the SDRAM module side with a working frequency of 1.8 V to the SDRAM module, so that the engineer can use a new generation of server systems. PCA9617A is the first FM + device designed for servers. While retaining all of the working modes and functions of the I2C bus system during level conversion, it also implements the expansion of the I2C bus by providing the data (SDA) line and the clock (SCL) line, and divides a bus into the operating frequency is 1 MHz, two parts of the capacitor 550 pf (max). With the PCA9617A, the system designer can increase the bus load capacitance and provide voltage level conversion. SDA pins and SCL pins have anti-overvoltage capability, which is in high impedance state when PCA9617A is absent. NXP is about to introduce samples and presentation boards.
