3-Stack PCB
First, Huawei is now using a 3-layer PCB configuration in P30 Pro. Although Apple is the first smartphone manufacturer of three-story PCB on iPhone X, Samsung also followed, but System Plus staff did not expect Huawei to catch up.
It turns out that Huawei uses the Unimicron's SLB (Substrate PCB) assembly of Unimicron. Apple's iPhone X three-layer circuit board is assembled by Austria's AT & S.
While P30 Pro and iPhone X use similar PCB architectures in three layers, they use stacks to different ways.
In P30 Pro, the underlying is embedded in the unicorn application processor, power management IC and passive in Huawei chip sectors. All RF components occupy the top. Elizabeth explained that between the two, the PCB of an intermediate frame is connected, as an isolation layer.

The motherboard uses Unimicron to produce three PCB boards. The first PCB has an application processor and power management IC and passive. The second is a single-sided PCB with all RF components. Between these two pieces, the intermediate frame PCB is used to connect.
In contrast, Apple's iPhone X puts the memory in the top, and the application processor is placed in the intermediate layer. Provide a third layer of heat dissipation.
"System Plus" explanates that the advancement of the PCB architecture is important because it can develop "a PCB similar to the substrate with very thin copper wire." He added that the final result is "a powerful PCB, no power consumption and delay loss, saving space."

Four cameras
However, the biggest feature of Huawei P30 Pro is to use four-axis camera. This new smartphone has four cameras. They include a main camera, plus wide-angle cameras, flight time, and perisunctional view. These four phones use Sony CMOS image sensors. The four-camera module uses several different architectures. The 10x zoom is achieved by the peripheral imaging module, and the flight time camera module is used to combine flue-light lighting to implement the AR function, and wide-angle double camera and main camera.
Double-camera module uses a filter composed of Ryyb (red, yellow, yellow, blue) instead of usual RBG. Elizabeth says that although the image sensor of the main camera provides RGB signal, the RYYB filter helps introduce more light.
Another worthless function of P30 Pro is to increase a Sony flight time (TOF) camera. Elizabeth pointed out that although Huawei is not the first company that uses Sony TOF camera (China's OPPO is already in use), Huawei is not only used to enhance the reality (AR) application, but also for "car pair".
The TOF camera helps draw a scenario by processing signals from three cameras, and allows users to focus on a specific object. Elizabeth emphasized: "This is the TOF camera for the first time for autofocus."

However, in all devices inside the P30 Pro, the biggest news is the periscope. Huawei places a CMOS image sensor vertically and placed a 45-degree mirror in the back to increase the optical path. Elisabeth said that this is the first time without any quality loss, 10 times zoom function is implanted into a real smartphone. He pointed out that at the 2018 World Mobile Communications Conference, OPPO demonstrated the prototype of 5x zoom, but never launched a real product.

Changes in RF partners?
Another system and discovery is that Skyworks seems to be no longer Huawei's main RF supplier. P30 Pro uses qorvo's medium / high frequency band front end module (QM77031). Skyworks now only provides a low frequency front end module (SKY78191). Previous SkyWorks provided three independent front-end modules to meet the needs of three different frequency bands.
