Python language DIY a modular and programmable DSLR camera trigger circuit solution

"PIXPI" is a project for building a trigger / controller that builds an open source, programmable digital SLR camera. This project focuses on "high-speed photography" technology, its purpose is to quickly move objects (such as bullets, rupture glass ) Make a perfect still photo. Water drops collision and ... Creative should be the only restriction here, but for some photographers, the technical difficulties are the same, this is the primary goal of the project: simplify "high-speed photography" as possible, but there is no limit Others, because the project will continue to develop, so I hope it is not only a "legitimate trigger" of high-speed photography, but also the unified controller of other photographic technology. Stepping Module (for extreme macro) or slider (for time shifting), a broader future goal is to create a product that can be referred to as "DSLR hacker platform". Project Objectives: The primary goal of this project is simple, just create a controller, you can create a beautiful photo in a reliable way to what is happening. Second, there is no need to use a computer to configure the possibility of configuring. The third is to make the interface so simple to make the photographer can use without technical knowledge. The fourth is to make it flexible as possible in order to extend its function as possible. The fifth is to expand its possibilities by using the electric module, not only for high-speed photography, but also for macro photography, delayed photography and astronomical photography. Long-term / future goals are any possibility of expanding the camera interface. How does PIXPI run? The controller board (PIXPI) runs under Linux (OpenWRT), the top is a Python application, responsible for receiving, executing, executing, executing, using scripts from smartphone applications, which is written for the project. SmartPhone App uses Google's Blockly library that created these scripts / sequences as simple as possible. So, in fact, you can use the graphic programming interface, use the block instead of writing any code, do not need any Python programming knowledge, the user can't see the Python code, he / she will only see the block. The script sent from the smartphone is basically the string of the Python code, select Python as the language of the drive controller because it can execute code from the string without compiling. The script is used using wifi-> Http-> REST protocol is sent from the Android application. The script is responsible for arranging the photo shooting order, so the camera shutter, the flash and modules are connected to each other. These blocks with the help of the Blockly library have been translated into python code, and the script can be sent to the controller board and execute on it. The controller board is powered by the vocore2 modular system, which is an open source modular system (https://vocore.io/). If you do it, you will get some beautiful photos. There is a camera connector, 2 flash connector and 3 module connector on the controller board. In addition, there is a serial USB connector and 12V power jack required to access the Vocore serial console. The following video is my introduction and presentation of this project.
