Qualcomm releases two high performance mid-end processors: Snapdragon 430 / Snapdragon 617

On September 15, Qualcomm announced today that QUALCOMM TECHNOLOGIES, INC. launched two new Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM processors - Snapdragon 430 and Snapdragon 617 chipset, which will bring to the mid-end mobile terminal Strong multimedia ability and connection performance. The Snapdragon 430 uses the X6 LTE modem, downlink CAT 4, up to 150 Mbps, and supports 2x10 MHz carrier aggregation; in addition to support 64-QAM in this hierarchical processor, uplink support CAT 5, maximum transmission speed 75 Mbps. The Snapdragon 617 contains the characteristics of the previous product, which is comprehensively improved compared with the connectivity and capacity of the Snapdragon 430. In order to meet the needs of the world's fast LTE data rate, the Snapdragon 617 integrates the X8 LTE modem, using two-way 2x20 MHz carrier aggregation support CAT 7, downstream speed up to 300 Mbps, up to 100 Mbps; and with Snapdrass 620 With the same software upgrade, dual ISP, and camera architecture with 618. The Snapdragon 617 and 430 also matches the new cost optimized radio frequency transceiver WTR 2965 facing global carrier aggregation to achieve optimal radio frequency performance. The Snapdragon 617 and 430 processors use high-performance ARM® CortexTM A53 Eight Nuclear CPU configuration, and support the next generation of fast charging technology QUALCOMM® Quick ChargeTM 3.0. In addition, both processors use high performance, low-power Qualcomm® HEXAGONTM DSP, support low power sensors and advanced audio functions. The Snapdragon 430 and Snapdragon 617 processors will also quickly track the regional certification process to support the Qualcomm® Global Pass certification project. Commercial terminals using the Snapdragon 430 processor are expected to be available in the second quarter of 2016, the Snapdragon 617 processor is expected to be applied in commercial terminals before the end of 2015.
