July 16, 2015, Japan Tokyo, Japan - The world's leading semiconductor and solution Supplier Ruisa Electronic Co., Ltd. has launched the company's smaller R-Car Development Kit - ADAS entry-level kit. The kit uses Rissa's high-end R-Car H2 system (SOC) to help streamline and speed up the development of ADAS (advanced driving assistance systems).
The new ADAS entry-level kit extends Rissa's existing R-Car V2H-based ADAS development board, allowing users and partners to experience the high performance real-time image identification performance of Rissisa SOC, and also help to speed up the future ADAS application The development process of dedicated hardware and software solutions.
The ADAS entry-level kit includes high performance real-time image recognition processors that support OpenCV interfaces, as well as OpenGLES-based powerful graphics processing capabilities, users and partners can develop ADAS applications on a stable high-performance platform. This new kit is supported by Linux based on YOCTO distribution (also available for other R-Car evaluation boards).
Such a new entry-level kit is currently the smallest Rissa R-Car development kit in the industry, with a size of only 10 cm x10cm, and is equipped with preset interfaces and peripherals without any additional hardware devices. The main development board is equipped with 2 GB of DDR3 RAM memory, 64 MB of QSPI flash, and a Micro SD card slot. Such a small-sized development board also includes an Ethernet module, an HDMI output interface, and a camera module connector. It is equipped with an integrated expansion connector that is easily customized. Users can easily design expansion boards to easily develop new solutions. Extended connector supports interfaces such as PCI Express (PCIe), multi-purpose output, and four camera input channels to meet the needs of Panorama.
About Risa R-Car H2 SOC
The new ADAS entry-level kit is equipped with Rissa High-end R-Car H2-Slices (SOC) that provides up to 25,000 DMIPS or more operational performance, with advanced 3D graphics processing capabilities and powerful visual processing kernels. R-Car H2 uses ARM® CortexTM A-15 quad-core configuration and attaches ARM® CortexTM A-7 quad-core processors. In addition, it also uses the PowerVR Series6 G6400 graphics processor (GPU) of Imagination Technologies. The GPU supports open source technologies such as OpenGL ES 2.0 and OpenGL ES 3.0 standards. Rissa IMP-X4 kernel has real-time image processing capabilities to help system manufacturers achieve intensive visual operations. It also provides OpenCV supporting IMP-X4. R-Car H2 also supports up to four separate camera input channels, easy to implement 360 degree panoramic shooting and object identification (this is just one of the application examples of driving assistance). With the above functional characteristics, R-Car H2 integrates the advanced security concept to help developers achieve powerful ADAS features.
