Synchronous buck converter AP61100Q for load point applications, has been developed for automotive applications

Diodes Incorporated (NASDAQ: DIOD) announced the launch of AP61100q, which is a synchronous buck converter for 5.5V, 1A continuous output current, automotive compatible, for load points (POL) applications. With a fully integrated 110MΩ high-end power MOSFET and 80MΩ low-end power MOSFET, it provides efficient buck DC-DC conversion from 5V and 3.3V input rails. The converter has been developed for automotive applications, including info entertainment systems, instrument panels, telematics, and advanced driver assist systems (ADAS). The multi-function programmable EN pin of AP61100Q provides design flexibility, allowing the device to operate in a mandatory pulse width modulation (PWM) or in all loads (PFM) in pulse frequency modulation (PFM). In PFM mode, the AP61100Q provides up to 89% efficiency at 5 mA light load and a low static current of only 15μA. The buck converter has a wide output voltage range of 0.6V to 3.6V and operates at a frequency of 2.2 MHz to avoid the AM radio frequency band frequency. By using constant on-time control, the buck converter can achieve fast transient response, easy loop stability and low output voltage ripple. The AP61100Q complies with the AEC-Q100 Level 1 standard, supports the PPAP document, and manufactures in the IATF 16949 certified equipment.
