The author is close to moving, TX61U-IT has not so much time, after I press the "Reset" button or how long it is in the sun, it has not recovered. Therefore, its embedded rechargeable battery is therefore due to depth discharge, which can no longer store charge again.
Is my idea correct? Let's take a look. TX61U-IT cannot be disconnected directly. In fact, in order to open it, the waterproof function of the outer casing will no longer be able to recover. It cannot be understood why La crosse does not use more convenient open shell (Figure 1).
Note that the square solar cell of the device is observed, and below the base LCD screen used to current battery voltage and measured temperature.
The "IT +" wireless connection between the transmitter and the receiver operates at 903MHz, 915MHz or 927 MHz band, negotiated in the initial pairing process and selected a specific frequency, and "open space" transmission range claims to reach 200 feet (61M ). The following text is taken from the user manual, which may be closely related to my TX61U-IT.
When the voltage of the TX61U-IT sensor is lower than 2.4V, the signal transmission is interrupted; "LO" is displayed on the LCD screen, continues to approximately 2s, and the sensor enters the "idle" mode. In "Idle" mode, the LCD screen is turned off. The sensor will automatically check and charge the internal rechargeable battery. When the battery voltage rises to 2.5V, the LCD screen is turned on, while the signal transmission resumes. If you place 24h in a dark environment, TX61U-IT will enter the Stop mode to save power. At this time, the LCD screen is turned off, and the device stops transmitting a wireless temperature signal. If this happens, press the reset button on the TX61U-IT sensor to wake up again. After that, if the voltage is higher than 2.4V, the LCD screen is turned on again, and the transmission of the wireless temperature signal is restored. However, if the voltage is lower than 2.4V, "LO" is displayed on the LCD screen, and the sensor will enter the "idle" mode. If the battery voltage is below 2.4V, set TX61U-IT in a more bright environment, which is charged for internal rechargeable batteries to continue normal operation.
As mentioned earlier, I suspect that the embedded battery will not be awake again due to depth discharge, and want to open an exploration within the device. Maybe you will think it can be opened directly through the slits on the side of the fuselage (Figure 2). However, this slit is shallow (and too wide), not suitable for inserting the coin or screwdriver, in addition, the joints of the entire outer casing are tightly adhered. Final, I can only use brute force to open, there are two conventional AAA chargeable alkaline batteries (Figure 3). Seeing this, I will be more doubtful: "Why does LA CROSS do not use more convenient to open the shell design?" I don't talk about this, let's take a look at the same side of the PCB after removing the battery (Figure 4) and the other side (Figure 4) 5).
The LCD screen is pressed on the PCB and is easily peeled off. Figure 6 is a back image of the solar cell. Unfortunately, the two "brains" of TX61U-IT were coated with the same black round encapsulated epoxy resin, covering the identity of various ICs within WS-811561-W.
