The difference between EMI receiver and spectral instrument

Most of the spectrum versators use an over-extra differential structure, which is the same as the EMI receiver, and the magnitude of each frequency component is displayed. The receiver needs to strictly meet the requirements for the receiver in CISPR16, and the spectrum is not required. Different from the spectrum and receivers are mainly reflected in the following aspects: 1) The processing of the receiver and the spectrometer on the input end is different. The signal input of the spectrometer typically has a set of relatively simple low-pass filters, and the receiver uses a preselector with strong interference capability to the wideband signal. A set of fixed bandpass filters and a set of tracking filters are typically included to complete preselection of signals. 2) Different sweep signals The scan signal source of the spectrometer is typically achieved by a sloppy wave or a sawtooth signal, and the frequency change is continuous, and the desired mixed output signal is scanned in a preset frequency span. The frequency signal scan of the receiver is a discrete point frequency scan. According to the frequency interval pre-set by the operator, the receiver is measured by the processor, and the test result curve is actually a single dot frequency test result. Now EMC measurements, people not only need to manually tune the search frequency point, but also quickly and intuitively observe the frequency level characteristics of EUT. This requires that the local oscillator signal can both test the predetermined frequency point, and can also be scanned within a certain frequency range. 3) The intermediate frequency filter bandwidth definition is different. The spectrometer resolution bandwidth is a 3dB bandwidth of the amplitude frequency characteristics, and the intermediate bandwidth of the receiver is 6dB bandwidth. 4) Different detectors The spectrum gauge is generally peak, a mean detector. In addition to the receiver, there is also a quasi-peak detector. 5) Different test accuracy The receiver needs to have higher precision, and lower chaos really respond.
