    Triquint launches a broadband loop amplifier for HFC networks for channel binders

     

    Triquint Semiconductor (NASDAQ code: Tqnt), launched four new products for cable TV (CATV) infrastructure and fiber optic home (FTTP) applications - broadband loop amplifier TAT3814, 12V infrastructure power multiplier TAT2801 and TAT8801A1H, integrated video receiver TAT6281. Among them, TAT3814 is an amplifier that supports a 5 to 300 MHz bandwidth of the industry's first support loop DOCSIS® 3.0 channel, which ensures long-term competitiveness and helps the current cable TV system for future. Channel Binding is a broadband data transfer solution for a large increase in bidirectional data throughput in cable television networks. This technology helps wired operators to meet their customers' current and future needs through economic expansion system upgrades. Existing silicon groups for channel binding and previously arsenide-based solutions are unable to compare with TriQuint's new solutions on bandwidth or output capabilities. Triquint's TAT3814 greatly simplifies the loop system design by integrating 36dB gain and 20dB automatic gain control (AGC) at a 6x6 mm surface mount solution. It is ideal for cable modems, DOCSIS, top gateways (DSG), set top boxes (STBs), and optical nodes and new combined line extension / optical node applications. With this solution, wired operators can provide high-speed data capabilities that have the ability to compete with FTTP systems. TAT2801 provides exceptionally high output and linearity for DOCSIS 3.0 EDGE QAM and Wired Modem Terminal System (CMTS) applications. Its linearity is higher in two new times; economical TAT8801A1H is used to meet most of the line extension output level requirements through its optimization performance and low power consumption. TAT8801A1H 40 - 1000 MHz 12V power multiplier for line extension and distribution node amplifier; integrated linearization; 11dB gain; 52dBM OIP3; 29DBM P1DB RF output power; 68DBC CSO distortion; 74DBC CTB distortion; + 12V @ 500mA; 16 Pin package. Tat6281 45 - 1003 MHz variable gain (video) receiver for FTTP; 3.8 Pa / RTHz typical EIN; 5V @ 220mA bias power supply; 20DB PIN diode variable gain attenuator; 18dB typical / 37dB max gain; 18dB loss loss ; -8 to + 1DBM light input range; 20dBMV RF output; 6x6mm surface mount package.
