Yingfine launches smart power switch with integrated diagnostic function
Infineon Technology Co., Ltd. introduces the second-generation ISOFACE electrical isolation of 8 channel high pressure side switches for 24V industrial control and automation applications. The new ISO2H823V integrates a wide range of diagnostic functions, which can master the status of equipment, which greatly reduces the downtime of expensive equipment. This device can isolate the low voltage control terminal components in the industrial controller to the high voltage output channel of the plant.
The electrical isolation solution between industrial equipment control terminals and processing ends is mostly photocouplers, which are limited in operation temperature and will be affected by aging and temperature offset effects. ISO2H823V IC provides 2.5kV isolation (compliant with IEC 61131-2 specification), higher operating temperature range, and provides digital power and control functions, and can drive eight output channels in 600mA. Therefore, it can bring more excellent durability, and the size of the PCB is reduced compared to the general photocoupler.
The application range of this new IC covers 24V industrial control systems, including a programmatic logic controller (PLC), a decentralized control system, industrial computers, and general control equipment. For systems that must be operated, such as heavy equipment such as large-scale chemical plants, production lines and field applications, integrated diagnostic functions are reducing unexpected downtime and accelerating any necessary maintenance.
Infineon Application Marketing Department Assurance Thomas Schmidt said: "In the industrial process, any machine shutdown may cause the production line to stagnation, and restarting the flow takes a few hours to continue production, causing great losses and waste. A wide range of built-in wafers diagnose, master the instant status of the power switch, the equipment supplier can provide more durable, reliable and detachable electronic control components, so that the unexpected conditions faced by the equipment users have a minimum. "
ISO2H823V built-in wafers diagnose the channel-level detection, short circuit conditions, and overheating operations that contain open loads. Additionally, the device can monitor the supply voltage, output state, over temperature, and transmission errors from the IC level. The system information provided is in-depth and extensive, which helps prevent maintenance, and can avoid accidental shutdown in high load conditions.
The output of the high-voltage side switch IC is designed for 24VDC jobs (ranges from 11 to 35V), and the 52V clamping diode can provide circuit protection. The standard value of 8 output channels is 150 MoHM RDS (ON), and there is a short circuit protection (active current is limited to 1.0A). The operating voltage of the control terminal is 3.3V and the LED matrix driver of the display device state is provided on the input and output.
