2019 is the first year of 5g. I am very happy to participate in this MWC Shanghai to discuss the development of 5g, as well as the important opportunities and innovative future brought by 5g with partners from all walks of life. Through the joint efforts of the industry, we have successfully connected people in the past 30 years. In the next 30 years, we will intelligently connect everything in the world. Just as hydropower and coal gave birth to the industrial revolution, the Internet and the digital wave, and created the information age, our breakthrough development, innovation and solutions are driving important changes. 5g opens a new era after the industrial age and the information age, which we call the "invention age". The results show that users' experience in every aspect can be significantly improved in 5g scenario, including lower download delay, so users will get faster refresh speed of information flow and web pages; Download faster, so that users can enjoy rich content even when they are offline; Streaming media playback can be maintained at the maximum bit rate to provide higher quality services.

At present, in terms of release 15, indoor millimeter wave applications for enterprises and venues will greatly improve our various application experiences. Qualcomm will work with the industry to continue to improve the specifications and products of release 15. The industry has also been working together to promote the evolution of 5g towards release 16 to be released next year, including enhanced large-scale MIMO and improving the performance and efficiency of frequency bands below 6GHz. In addition, the industry is also actively promoting urllc (ultra reliable low delay) specification that can support the development of industrial Internet of things, which is very important for realizing industrial Internet of things and improving reliability. We also strive to implement c-v2x in the 5g new air interface scenario, which will greatly accelerate our industry's ability to improve automation and safety and support automatic driving. At the same time, we will also expand 5g to more frequency bands, including shared and unlicensed frequency bands, and use cooperative multipoint sharing to support private networks.
Qualcomm has a complete 5g solution. In the development process of 5g, from standard formulation to promoting the 5g schedule of the industrial chain, we have been working together with our industrial partners, so that 5g can be realized globally in 2019. Based on our years of research and development of 5g basic technology and leading 3G, 4G and Wi Fi technologies and solutions, we continue to make unremitting efforts to promote the research, development and commercial use of 5g. We have a variety of system prototypes and test platforms, which can help enterprises and industry accelerate the development of 5g networks, products and services. In the past two years, Qualcomm has joined hands with global partners to accelerate the commercial use of 5g. With the keen expectation of the industry, 5g launched commercial deployment in many regions around the world in 2019, one year ahead of the original schedule. This is also the goal set by Qualcomm and more than 20 industrial partners around the world, including operators and terminal manufacturers, in 2017, that is, to achieve 5g global commercial deployment in 2019. Our unremitting efforts with operators and other ecological partners have promoted the current vigorous development of 5g. Compared with 4G, the transition to 5g is significantly faster. Comparing the first year of 4G deployment with the first year of 5g deployment in 2019, we can see that in the first year of 4G, only four operators in the world deployed 4G networks and only three terminal manufacturers launched 4G terminals. This year is the first year of 5g in the world. At present, we see that more than 20 mobile operators will launch commercial 5g networks around the world, and more than 20 mobile terminal manufacturers will provide operators and consumers with a variety of mobile terminals.
In China, Qualcomm joins hands with China's terminal ecosystem to provide 5g terminals for the global market including China. At the beginning of last year, Qualcomm joined hands with Chinese terminal partners to launch the "5g pilot plan" in Beijing. A year later, our goal at that time has been achieved today - to bring the best mobile terminal products to the global market in 2019. We can see that China's OEM manufacturers have prepared a large number of 5g terminals for the three major operators and consumers, and are expected to be listed in the second half of this year. In addition, we also see that Chinese terminal manufacturers actively expand their business to the global market. Chinese terminals can be seen in the commercial market of 5g release, whether in the United States, Europe or other regions. In the coming year, we will continue to work closely with 5g terminal industry to enable a wide range of terminal types, including automobiles, Mobile PCs and various consumer products.
