ITU officially launched 6G research: the initial timetable finalized

At the 34th International Telecommunications Union Radio Communication Department 5D Working Group (ITU-R WP5D) meeting held in Geneva, ITU-R WP5D, the research work for 2030 and future is officially launched, and 6G is the most core part. The meeting formed a preliminary 6G research schedule, including future technical trend research reports, future technical vision recommendations, etc. important plan nodes. The ITU plans to complete the "Future Technical Trend Report in June 2022, the technical evolution direction of IMT international mobile communication system after 5G, including IMT evolution technology, high-spectral technology and deployment." In the first half of 2021, IT would launch future technical vision proposals and plan to complete in June 2023, including the overall goal of the IMT system for 2030 and future, such as application scenarios, main system capabilities. However, currently, ITU has not yet determined a 6G standard development plan.
