RENESAS has launched a low-cost 16-bit microcontroller (MCU) H8 / 36902G and H8 / 36912G, which is a large-popular H8 series. The two devices can meet the system requirements of household appliances such as washing machines, dryers, and various cooking equipment to alternative electromechanical and discrete electrical components. These MCUs can be used as sub-processors to provide primary-in-chip functionality for home and industrial safety systems, control systems, fluorescent lamp products, dimmers, and other embedded applications. These two MCUs are based on H8 / 300HCPU cores with 64kb address space, providing up to 8KB flash or mask ROM and up to 1.5 kBRAM, up to 12MHz (1: 1 oscillator). In order to simplify the design of the system, two H8 / 36902G and H8 / 36912GMCUs have a variety of valuable peripherals that are embedded in applications. They integrate high-speed oscillator, main clock oscillator, 8-bit timer, 16-bit timer with input capture / output comparison and PWM mode, 4-channel 10-bit ADC, Watchdog Timer (WDT), asynchronous / Synchronous serial communication channel, power-on reset (POR), and LVD function. The in-kind oscillator can be used as a backup clock of the main clock or an external clock. The LVD and POR functions in the tablets make MCU-based system security turnover to help the system work reliably.
