CBR/VBR/CVBR code rate control method

CBR (Constant Bit Rate) encodes with a constant bit rate. When Motion occurs, because the bit rate is constant, the codeword size can only be reduced by increasing the QP, and the image quality becomes worse. When the scene is still, the image quality is again Becomes better, so the image quality is unstable. This algorithm gives priority to bit rate (bandwidth).

This algorithm can be regarded as the most difficult algorithm for rate control, because it is impossible to determine when motion will occur. If motion occurs in the last frame of the rate statistics window, the frame size will become larger, resulting in the statistical rate. It is more than the preset code rate, which means that it is unreasonable to count the code rate once per second. It should be the average code rate over a period of time, which is more reasonable.

　　VBR (Variable Bit Rate) dynamic bit rate, its bit rate can change with the complexity of the image, so its coding efficiency is relatively high, when Motion occurs, there are few mosaics. The bit rate control algorithm determines the bit rate used according to the image content. If the image content is simpler, it will allocate less bitrate (it seems that the codeword is more appropriate). If the image content is complex, it will allocate more codewords. This not only guarantees the quality, but also Take into account bandwidth restrictions. This algorithm prioritizes image quality.

　　 CVBR (Constrained VariableBit Rate), it would be awkward to translate it into Chinese. It is an improved method of VBR. But where is Constrained? The Maximum bitRate corresponding to this algorithm is constant or the Average BitRate is constant. This method takes into account the advantages of the above two methods: when the image content is static, bandwidth is saved, and when Motion occurs, the bandwidth saved in the previous period is used to improve the image quality as much as possible, so as to achieve the goal of taking into account both bandwidth and image quality. This method usually allows the user to enter the maximum code rate and the minimum code rate. When it is stationary, the code rate is stable at the minimum code rate. When in motion, the code rate is greater than the minimum code rate, but does not exceed the maximum code rate. The ideal model is as follows:

　　 ABR (Average Bit Rate) reaches the set bit rate within a certain time range, but the local bit rate peak value can exceed the set bit rate, and the average bit rate is constant.

How far(long) the transmitter cover?

The transmission range depends on many factors. The true distance is based on the antenna installing height , antenna gain, using environment like building and other obstructions , sensitivity of the receiver, antenna of the receiver . Installing antenna more high and using in the countryside , the distance will much more far.

EXAMPLE 5W FM Transmitter use in the city and hometown:

I have a USA customer use 5W fm transmitter with GP antenna in his hometown ,and he test it with a car, it cover 10km(6.21mile).

I test the 5W fm transmitter with GP antenna in my hometown ,it cover about 2km(1.24mile).

I test the 5W fm transmitter with GP antenna in Guangzhou city ,it cover about only 300meter(984ft).
