In order to change this market situation, RDA Microelectronics (RDA) launched the high-performance radio frequency receiver chip RDA5880 for terrestrial digital TV reception. This is the first chip successfully listed in this field in China. It marks the first time for a Chinese manufacturer. The monopoly of foreign chips on the market was broken.

    High-performance radio frequency receiver ICs should have the characteristics of high integration, low power consumption, low noise, high sensitivity, etc., while reducing the number of components in the circuit as much as possible to reduce costs. RDA5880 chip adopts CMOS process, QFN32 5×5mm package, very few off-chip components, and has the characteristics of high integration. Support automatic gain control mode, can support the current mainstream digital TV broadcast transmission standards (including DVB-T, DVB-C, ATSC, DMB-T/H, CMMB, etc.) and analog TV standards, support multi-band band III 174M-240M , VHF band 470M-870M.
       RDA5880 is a chip specially designed for China's terrestrial digital TV market, and further strengthens the product's various features, enhancing the possibility of RDA5880 being applied to mobile systems. RDA5880 has powerful on-chip functions, high performance (noise figure less than 5dB), low power consumption (less than 150mA), and can be widely used in notebook computers, MP3/MP4, high-end mobile phones, PMP, PDA, car entertainment navigation systems, digital Portable terminal products such as cameras can also be applied to set-top boxes to meet the needs of users to watch terrestrial digital TV broadcasts directly for a long time.
      Future radio frequency receivers not only need to process sound signals, but also need to process a large number of data signals at a higher bit rate. In order to meet the requirements of these new applications, receivers are required to have high performance and higher accuracy, which will bring many challenges to the design of radio frequency receivers. RDA Microelectronics said that although there are already several terrestrial digital TV radio frequency receiver chips on the market, the RDA5880 still has great advantages compared with them: this chip adopts advanced product architecture and no front-end radio frequency filter. Integrated RF phase-locked loop (including all on-chip integration of loop filter); At the same time, it integrates high-performance analog-to-digital converter, which can realize automatic gain control without external control signal; It also integrates LDO, which can support 3.3V to 4.5V Power supply voltage. The highly integrated single-chip solution simplifies the peripheral circuit, makes the design of the terminal manufacturer simpler, and greatly reduces the material cost of the terminal product.

    In addition to the characteristics of high integration, RDA5880 also has very good performance. The system noise figure is less than 5dB (including the front-end band III and VHF band crossover network), and the good sensitivity ensures that the application terminal can effectively receive terrestrial digital TV programs even in the case of long distances and weak signals; large signal noise More than 30dB, it can meet the demodulation requirements of QAM256 in application. RDA5880 is also a product with extremely low power consumption. The power consumption is less than 150mA, which prolongs the battery life; the chip also has excellent anti-interference ability and meets NorDig1 .0.3 standard to ensure that the received audio and video are clear and smooth. RDA5810, another DVB-S radio frequency receiver chip of RDA Microelectronics, adopts CMOS process, is a fully integrated direct down conversion structure RF single-chip satellite receiver chip, can support DVB-S, DVB-S2 digital satellite reception standard. The received power range of this chip is 900MHZ-2250MHZ, ensuring that the bandwidth of the baseband filter can be selected at intervals of 1MHZ, and the selection range can reach 4MHZ-40MHZ.
       RDA5810 includes a variable gain amplifier, quadrature down converter, variable intermediate frequency gain amplifier, variable low pass filter, crystal oscillator, VCOs, synthesis and output baseband power amplifier, etc. to drive external ADC. On the basis of RDA's innovative technology, 5810 provides excellent phase noise and meets the needs of advanced modulation systems such as 8PSK modulation and DVB-S2 standards. This highly integrated design can save valuable board space and simplify the RF layout. Based on RDA Microelectronics' innovative loop design, it also realizes on-chip integration including loop filters. Through structural optimization and circuit design innovation, RDA5810 has become one of the industry's most integrated radio frequency chips with the best performance.
